Website diagnosis and repair
Your website stopped working. I find out why and fix it.
WordPress, WooCommerce, HTML, AI-built websites and bespoke PHP systems. If I can access the website or hosting, I can usually repair it without rebuilding everything.
Start with the symptom
What went wrong? You do not need the technical answer.
Choose the closest description. The panel explains what I would inspect, the likely price route and whether another service fits better.
Repair, not judgement
Building it yourself was not the mistake. The tool simply stopped early.
I keep the design, content and working parts wherever they are sound. The job is to identify the weak layer and repair it, not use one broken form as an excuse to sell a new website.
More than plugin support
I can work below the page you can see.
A visible error may begin in the browser, the application, the database, the hosting or a service connected to it.
WordPress and WooCommerce
Core, custom themes, plugins, builders, checkout, scheduled tasks and the database underneath them.
HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Static sites, responsive layouts, browser faults, forms and front-end behaviour.
Bespoke PHP and MySQL
Existing application code, old PHP versions, database queries, APIs and business-specific systems.
Hosting and connections
DNS, SSL, server settings, email delivery, payment providers and services that sit outside the website.
Closed website builders only allow changes the platform exposes. I check access and limits before charging for a diagnosis.
A controlled repair
No open meter. No changes before the price.
The diagnosis separates finding the fault from paying to repair it. You receive the answer even if you take the work elsewhere.
Suitability check
Send the address and the visible symptom. I confirm whether I can access and investigate it.
Diagnosis
£95. Normally 1-2 working days. You receive the cause, the risks and a fixed repair price.
Repair and verify
I back up first, repair the agreed scope and test the route that failed rather than only clearing the visible error.
Hand back or take over
You receive the change list and keep control. Ongoing care is available, never required.
Repair prices
The diagnosis buys an answer. Not an hourly meter.
The figures below are total project ranges. The diagnosis is part of that total and is deducted from an approved repair.

Repair work, kept private
20+ broken websites in a typical year.
Client websites stay private. The recurring faults and the work required to put them right can still be shown clearly.
- A site restored and hardened after unwanted code appeared
- Old PHP repaired after a hosting platform moved forward
- WordPress recovered after a failed theme or plugin update
- Forms and business email made deliverable again
- Checkout and booking journeys repaired end to end
- Mobile layouts corrected without rebuilding the site
Sometimes repair is not the right label
The first useful answer may be a different route.
I would rather send you to the right service than force every problem into the repair price.
Only the website is slow
A focused performance overhaul measures before and after.
Website speed routeIt works, but brings no customers
That needs a website audit rather than fault repair.
Website audit routeIt was hacked or access is gone
Recovery, ownership and security need the rescue route.
Website rescue routeYou want someone responsible monthly
Repair it once, or have the website watched and looked after.
Website care routeWhat you receive
Fixed, tested and still yours.
- Backup before changes begin
- A written list of changes
- The failed route tested again
- No compulsory care contract
Before I touch the website
Website repair questions.
Can you repair any kind of website?
I work on WordPress, WooCommerce, static HTML, AI-built websites and bespoke PHP and MySQL systems. The practical limit is access: I need the website, code or hosting to expose the part that failed. I check that before charging for a diagnosis.
Can you repair bespoke PHP that another developer wrote?
Yes. I read the existing code, reproduce the fault and trace it through PHP, the database, APIs and the server environment. An unfamiliar codebase usually needs the complex repair route because understanding it safely is part of the work.
What does the £95 diagnosis include?
It includes investigation of the visible symptom, the underlying cause, affected parts, immediate risks and a fixed price for the repair. A normal diagnosis is completed within one to two working days. You receive the findings even if you do not proceed.
Is the diagnosis deducted from the repair?
Yes. The displayed repair ranges are total project figures. If the agreed total is £450, the £95 diagnosis has already covered the first £95 of that figure.
Will the website go offline while you work?
Not unless it is already down or the repair cannot be made safely while it is live. I back up first and use a staging copy where the hosting and the fault allow it. If downtime is necessary, I explain why and agree the timing first.
What if the website was hacked?
That starts as website rescue rather than an ordinary repair. I check the files, database, users and scheduled tasks, remove every route back in that I can find, close the entry point and harden the recovered site. Cleaning only the visible spam is not enough.
What if repairing it is not worth the cost?
I will say so. Repair makes sense when most of the website is sound and the fault can be contained. If the platform blocks essential changes or the repair would approach the cost of replacing a poor foundation, you receive that answer before authorising more work.
Do I need an ongoing maintenance contract afterwards?
No. The repair is a one-off job and the website remains under your control. I can look after it afterwards if you want one person responsible for updates, backups and monitoring, but that is a separate choice.

I will tell you whether it is fixable.
Send the address and what you can see. Do not send passwords through this form. I will ask for access securely after confirming the job is a fit.
