I browsed the website

The server delivers the page and keeps a short security record.

  • IP address
  • Requested page and time
  • Browser or device identifier
  • Chosen site language

Why: Deliver the website in the chosen language, diagnose faults and protect it from abuse.

Legal reason: Legitimate interests in operating and securing the website, plus the service you requested.

Retention: Server access logs rotate after 14 days. The language preference cookie lasts up to one year.

I sent an enquiry

Your message becomes one private enquiry record and one email notification.

  • Name and business
  • Email address
  • Optional website and telephone
  • Message and reply preference

Why: Understand your request, reply to it and keep enough context to continue the conversation.

Legal reason: Steps at your request before a possible contract, and legitimate interests in answering and managing enquiries.

Retention: The private site record is deleted after 24 months. The working email copy is kept only while needed for the enquiry, resulting work or a relevant legal record.

I requested a call

The requested day and contact route are stored so the exact time can be agreed.

  • Contact and business details
  • Call type, date and time band
  • Phone, WhatsApp or Meet preference
  • Timezone and discussion note

Why: Arrange, confirm, move or cancel the conversation you requested.

Legal reason: Steps at your request before a possible contract, and legitimate interests in administering the booking.

Retention: The booking record, including a cancellation marker, is deleted after 24 months. Short anti-abuse hashes expire sooner.

I used an external link

The destination provider handles the next part of the journey.

  • The destination you open
  • Connection and device information
  • Your provider account, if signed in
  • Anything you choose to send there

Why: Let you use WhatsApp, a calendar provider or another linked service when you choose that route.

Legal reason: The action you requested. The destination provider applies its own privacy terms after the link opens.

Retention: This website does not control how long the destination provider keeps information.

Where a form submission goes

Two working copies. Not a marketing trail.

An enquiry or booking is stored as a private WordPress record on the website server. Email messages are also sent through the configured Hostinger service so Ernest can answer and, for bookings, you can receive confirmation.

There is no automatic CRM export, newsletter subscription, advertising audience, sale of your information or automated decision. Local backup rotation may temporarily preserve the same record after it leaves the working database.

Retention by design

Short-lived checks. A firm final limit.

Different records have different jobs. They do not all need to remain for the same length of time.

  2. 1 hour
Duplicate booking hashA one-way salted email hash slows accidental repeat requests.
  3. 1 day
Rate-limit hashA one-way salted IP hash limits booking abuse. The IP itself is not put in the booking record.
  4. 14 days

  5. 1 year

Enquiries and bookingsPrivate site records are deleted automatically after two years.

Working email copies are reviewed against whether the enquiry is active, became a project or is relevant to a legal record. Project, contractual and accounting records may be retained for longer where the contract, tax rules or a legal claim require it. Information may also remain briefly in a rotating backup until that backup is overwritten.

Who may handle information

A small operating chain. Clear boundaries.

Access is limited to Ernest and providers needed to run the website and deliver its email. Information can also be disclosed where law requires it or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
