Hotel and B&B website design

Turn more stays into direct bookings.

I build hotel, guest house and B&B websites that show the rooms properly, connect availability, take payment and give guests a clear reason to book with you.

The short answer

Keep the OTA for reach. Build a direct door you own.

I build direct-booking websites for independent hotels, B&Bs and guest houses. A typical complete project is £1,600 - £2,600 and usually takes 2 to 4 weeks.

The website can work beside Booking.com and Expedia. I check the booking engine, PMS or channel manager before promising a connection, so room availability does not become a second diary to maintain.

Start with what you use now

The right first job depends on where bookings sit today.

Choose the closest setup. The recommendation, checks and starting price change without forcing every hotel into the same build.

Use your own numbers

What could direct bookings stop leaving each month?

Set the average booking value, the bookings you could realistically win direct and the commission on your own statement.

Not an overnight escape

Booking.com can stay. It stops being the only door.

A direct website does not need to delete the channel that already brings new guests. It gives repeat guests, referrals and people who find you locally somewhere better to book.

  • Existing inventory can stay where staff already manage it
  • Direct-booking terms and incentives remain under your control
  • The exact connection depends on the provider and access available

What the website must achieve

A room gallery is not a direct-booking strategy.

The useful build follows the whole guest decision, from finding the right stay to receiving a confirmation and remembering where to book next time.

Make each room easy to choose

Occupancy, bed setup, amenities, terms and useful photographs sit where the guest needs them.

Take the booking and payment

Availability, secure payment and confirmation form one route instead of several disconnected clicks.

Answer local stay searches

Location, rooms, events and useful local information give search engines and guests clear pages to understand.

Speak to the right guest

A second language can be added where the market supports it, with clear language routes rather than duplicated machine copy.

Measure completed bookings

Track the valuable confirmation, not only visits and button clicks that never became revenue.

Different property, same decision

The page also fits accommodation beyond a traditional hotel.

Glamping sites, campsites, caravan parks, hostels and pubs with rooms still need guests to understand the stay, check the right availability and book without unnecessary commission.

Before the booking build

Hotel website questions.

Can guests book and pay directly on my website?

Yes. The website can show rooms, dates, rates and terms, then take a secure payment or deposit and send a confirmation. The exact route depends on the booking engine, payment provider and inventory system agreed for the project.

Will direct booking work alongside Booking.com and Expedia?

Yes, when the current provider supports the required connection. The OTA can stay as a discovery channel while the website becomes the direct route for repeat guests, referrals and people who find the property locally. I check the setup before promising automatic synchronisation.

Will availability stay synchronised across every channel?

That depends on the PMS, channel manager or booking engine and the access it provides. I confirm the supported connection before quoting it. If a provider cannot exchange availability safely, I explain the limitation instead of creating a second diary that staff must remember to update.

Can you use the PMS or channel manager I already have?

Usually, if it provides a suitable booking link, embedded journey or documented connection. I first check the provider, account access, supported payment flow and what happens after confirmation. A working system does not need replacing merely because the website is new.

How much does a hotel or B&B website cost?

A typical complete hotel project is £1,600 to £2,600. The website foundation starts from £1,100 and booking engine with card payments starts from £700 when priced as a standalone component. The typical range is a combined project price, not those two starting figures added together.

How quickly can direct booking pay back the website cost?

It depends on the booking value, realistic number of bookings that move direct and the commission on your own statement. The calculator on this page shows the arithmetic against the £1,600 to £2,600 typical build range. It is an illustration rather than a savings guarantee.

Can I offer a better direct-booking reason than the OTA?

The website can explain direct rates, flexible terms, breakfast, parking, late checkout or another genuine benefit you control. Any offer must match your commercial agreements and operating rules. I structure and present it, but I do not invent a perk the property cannot deliver.

Can I update rooms, rates and seasonal offers myself?

Yes, but the place where each item is edited depends on the agreed setup. Room inventory and rates may remain in the booking system, while room copy, local pages and offers are edited in the website. I train you on the exact route rather than giving a generic manual.

Can the website help previous guests book again?

Yes. With the right consent, the website can build an owned guest list and send a welcome or post-stay message. A newsletter system costs £300 to £600 as an add-on and the list stays on your own hosting. Email writing and monthly sending are separate work.

Do I need new hotel photography before the website starts?

Not always. I first review the photographs you already own and identify the missing room, exterior, food or local shots that affect a booking decision. Basic photo and video work can be handled in-house. A specialist shoot is quoted separately or referred directly when the property needs it.

Will the hotel website help with Google and local searches?

The build includes clear room, location and useful stay pages, technical search foundations and meaningful booking measurement. That gives Google and AI systems better information to understand. It does not guarantee a ranking, traffic level or number of bookings.

Do you also build for glamping sites, hostels and pubs with rooms?

Yes. The same direct-booking principles apply to glamping, campsites, caravan parks, hostels and pubs with rooms. The room or pitch structure, availability rules and guest questions change, so I scope the route around the actual property rather than renaming a hotel template.
