Website care and maintenance

Your website should not wait for you to notice it broke.

Monitoring, backups, updates, small changes and the systems behind the website. One person knows what is running and takes responsibility for keeping it useful.

More than installing updates

Someone needs to know what the website is meant to do.

A green update tick does not prove the enquiry arrived, the payment completed or the booking reached the calendar. Care means checking the business route, not only the software version.

Choose by responsibility

What do you want me responsible for each month?

Pick the closest answer. The recommendation shows what changes between monitoring, small edits, connected systems and active improvement.

Four levels, one ladder

Pay for the attention the website actually needs.

Each plan contains the one before it. A small brochure website should not pay for campaigns and systems it does not use.

Monitoring, not attention

Watch

£49a month
A stable website you update yourself
  • Hosting watched
  • Updates applied
  • Backups taken
  • Uptime and security monitored
  • One report a month, in plain English
  • No edits

Care plus small changes

Essential

£99a month
A business website that changes occasionally
  • Everything in Watch
  • 30 minutes of edits a month
  • Owner dashboard

Active improvement every month

Full

£299 - £349a month
A website expected to produce measurable growth
  • Everything in Growth
  • One conversion experiment a month
  • Two posts written
  • Email sequences
  • Automations monitored
  • Same-day priority

Watch is monitoring, not attention. The first month you need edits is the month Essential becomes the honest plan.

Growth and Full include supported systems and waive the separate website repair price. Work outside the listed allowance is agreed before it begins.

When something goes wrong

A signal becomes a checked repair route.

Monitoring is useful only when somebody can interpret it. A brief hosting interruption and a broken checkout should not receive the same response.

Notice

Monitoring raises the signal or you message me directly.

Verify

I reproduce the fault and separate a real failure from a temporary alert.

Restore or repair

The safe route may be a rollback, a restore or a targeted code repair.

Explain

You receive the cause, what changed and anything that needs a decision.

You are never left alone

The practical things that make care feel different.

No support maze and no anonymous queue. You message the person who knows the website and its history.

What a month looks like

Quiet work in the background. One useful report at the end.

The aim is not to fill your inbox with technical alerts. It is to keep the site dependable and surface the few things worth your attention.

Care without lock-in

I look after the website. I do not take ownership of it.

Your domain, hosting, code, content and records remain yours. Care is a monthly service because you want someone paying attention, not because the website stops when you leave.

  • No percentage of sales or enquiries
  • No compulsory long contract
  • No licence switch that disables the website
  • Third-party costs remain visible and direct
  • Access and handover remain available

Before I take responsibility

Website care questions.

Can you look after a website you did not build?

Usually, yes. I first inspect the website, access, hosting, backups and any existing faults. If something needs repairing before normal care can begin, I explain and price that separately rather than hiding it inside the first month.

What is the difference between Watch and Essential?

Watch covers monitoring, backups, updates and a monthly report, but no content edits. Essential adds an owner dashboard and 30 minutes of routine edits each month.

What happens if an update breaks the website?

A recent backup provides the safe route back. I verify the fault, then choose whether to roll back, restore or repair the affected part. The important customer route is checked again rather than relying only on a successful update message.

Are website repairs included in the monthly price?

Growth and Full waive the separate website repair price. On Watch and Essential, a repair outside normal updates and the included edit allowance is explained and agreed before chargeable work begins.

Which plan suits a shop or booking website?

Growth is normally the honest starting point because it includes the connected systems and an hour of edits. A simple website with no operational system may only need Watch or Essential.

Does around-the-clock monitoring mean instant human support?

No. The checks run around the clock, but that is not a claim that a person watches a screen every minute. Alerts are verified and handled according to their effect on the business. Full carries same-day priority.

What is included in the monthly report?

A plain-English summary of checks, updates, changes, visible website activity and anything that deserves a decision. The purpose is to surface useful information rather than forward technical alerts.

Can I still update the website myself?

Yes. Watch is designed for a stable website you prefer to edit yourself. I only ask that significant technical changes are coordinated so a backup and a known change history remain available.

Are hosting and the domain included?

Hosting and the domain remain direct running costs, normally about £100 a year for a straightforward site. The care price buys monitoring, maintenance and attention rather than hiding those outside costs.

Can I change care plan later?

Yes. The right plan can change when the website gains a shop, bookings, campaigns or more frequent content work. It can also move down when the workload becomes simpler.

Can I cancel website care?

Yes. There is no licence switch that disables the website and no percentage of sales or enquiries. Your access, code, content and records remain yours.

What does Full add beyond maintenance?

Full adds active improvement: a conversion experiment each month, two posts, email sequences, monitored automations and same-day priority. It is for a website expected to improve results, not only remain available.

Put the website under care

Tell me what is running and who handles it now.

Send the website address and mention any shop, booking, email or business system connected to it. I will confirm the honest plan before anything starts.

  • I read every request myself
  • I reply within 24 hours - much faster on WhatsApp
  • No automatic upgrade to a larger plan
