What the work changed
Built around the real job.
What I built
Automatically optimises JPEG and PNG images and converts them to WebP on upload, speeding a site up considerably and meeting Google PageSpeed requirements.
What changed
The plugin runs on 14 client websites with no ongoing conversion workflow to manage. Compared with unoptimised images, observed tests showed an improvement of around 20 PageSpeed points, alongside lower storage use and less file clutter.
